Phicops Monotangle

This week, Roy at Mindful Creations, asked us to do Phicops. I'm still working on trying to be more of a minimalist. It's hard to do though. Mistakes are much more visible don't you think? Oh, I forgot, no mistakes in Zentangle® :)

Dare Number 54

This week's Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl was such a simple design. Somehow, I managed to clutter it up again. Sigh. Must remember NOT to always fill every spot!

This and That and a Monotangle Adventure

We had a lovely visit with friends from Canada yesterday. I gave my sewing friend a label for one of her fabric boxes:
Then, I demonstrated Zentangle for a new Canadian friend:
Today, I worked on a white on black:
I used chalk for the shading. Not sure how I like that though.

Then, I worked on something like Zentangle®, but not really. This is for my Yahoo group's TOW (tangle of the week). It is called Mehndi and is used to do henna patterns. Look it up on the Internet and you will find many beautiful patterns. It is very soft in some respects as it can't be shaded, and then it is also heavier as all small dots will be filled. This is only if you are truly trying to make it look like henna body painting though.
And, finally, I finished Roy's monotangle adventure for Onamato:

Lots of Swaps for April

Here are a few of the things I have been working on lately. My Yahoo group had an ATC swap for flowers in the style of Georgia O'Keefe. The first one was just too traditional, not O'Keefe enough. I'm still not too happy with the following ones, but it seems like doing a "tiny" O'Keefe isn't quite right anyway :)

The second swap was for a "Hippie Bear". I quite like her. If you have an imagination, like I do, you will see the peace sign on her left paw. She has a diamond in the middle of the flower that she holds in her right hand. Her vest has little teeny tiny fringe that I glued individually. (I really need a life, yes?) She was a lot of fun to do.
And, finally, the last swap was for a zentangle that has an animal or part of an animal in it. I probably have too much animal as it is fairly clear what he is, but it's Zentangle, right? (Actually, a ZIA.)

Dare Number 53

Busy week, but I did squeeze in the weekly dare from The Bright Owl:
I've been working on looking for something, other than the obvious, in these dares. I kind of like the flower shape that developed with this one. Thanks Erin!

Dare #52

I had a great day yesterday with my group. We shared, we laughed, we tangled. Not finished yet, so that one will have to wait to be shared. I have since been battling with my iTunes and iPod. I've lost all my playlists and podcasts. Spent most of two days trying to get things back. I reinvented the wheel and started from scratch, but none of it will sync with the iPod. ARGHHH!!!!
I did get this week's dare completed though. I really had to do a lot of thinking on this one. Erin, at The Bright Owl, asked us to use Hollibaugh, an official Zentangle pattern. I like this pattern and use it often; however, I usually keep it straight or just slightly curved. This was an interesting way to work with it.
